Plastic Injection Molding

At Agilian, we’ve been assembling electro-mechanical products, mostly portable electronics, since 2018. Over time, we saw that many of our customers’ products required high-quality plastic enclosures and custom internal components made from plastic or silicone. To better support these needs, we brought plastic production in-house.

Today, plastic injection molding is a core part of our operations. Our facility includes dedicated equipment for tooling fabrication, plastic injection molding, and silicone compression molding, all located on the same site as our R&D office, main assembly lines, testing lab, and more. This integration allows us to ensure tight control over quality, lead times, and design flexibility, while offering a complete solution from prototyping to mass production.

What we offer at our tooling and plastic injection molding facility

The facility is divided into three areas:

Office
 

Design Office

This is where we do a DFM review on the design of your parts and we suggest changes as needed, and where we design the tooling. (Note, Agilian’s in-house purchasing team takes care of buying the blocks of steel.)

Tooling-shop
 

Tooling shop

This is where we machine the blocks of metal into the finished molds. Includes CNC and traditional milling, EDM cutting, grinders, and other equipment. We have a particular expertise in highly engineered molds.

Plastic Injection shop
 

Plastic Injection shop

Seven new plastic injection presses (90 to 450 tons clamping force, allowing us to make small as well as midsize parts) with automated unloading arms, third-generation digital controls, and various ways of ensuring polymer dryness. Operating under proven quality systems.

Long production lead times and inconsistent quality in China aren’t inevitable. They simply result from a lack of production planning and process controls.

Clean Room Workshop

For products that demand the highest visual and functional quality (with the absolute minimum of defects caused by contaminants), part of our production takes place in a dedicated clean room environment.

This temperature-controlled, dust-free workshop is equipped with industrial-grade air filtration and air conditioning systems to maintain clean air quality and relatively stable climate conditions (avoiding wild fluctuations). We’ve also integrated a sealed pipeline system that delivers plastic polymers directly to the injection molding machines, eliminating the risk of dust contamination during open-air material feeding or material transfer.

Silicone Compression Molding

Our in-house silicone production facilities also allow us to manufacture various silicone products, such as buttons, feet, o-rings, keypads, and various other custom parts. The process is beneficial because it produces high-quality, durable parts with complex geometries and excellent material properties, such as heat resistance, flexibility, and chemical stability.

Die Casting

Agilian makes aluminum and zinc parts. More specifically, we design and fabricate your die casting molds in-house, and then we manage production in a casting factory nearby. We then do machining as needed to finish your metal parts. That’s how we keep quality under control.

The molds are typically made from DIN 2344 die steel which is required to withstand the high temperatures, pressure, and shocks, for many thousands of uses.

Fast Iterative Tooling

Fast Iterative Tooling (FIT) streamlines the transition from CAD and 3D-printed samples to production-grade tooling, ideal for simple molds and low-requirement parts.

In sensitive cases, DFM-stage risk analysis may not prevent mold revisions later. FIT reduces this risk by producing parts in the actual production polymer using a similar molding process, ensuring more reliable design validation.
